USA: FLORIDA - Brick Street Farms Celebrates A Homecoming With Its New Market
BY ANDREW HARLAN
Brick Street Farms’ vegetables are crunchy green candies in my opinion. This sensational hydroponic farm has the entire city craving fresh greens, and many local restaurants (including staff favorite Sauvignon) utilize their produce in their signature dishes. Brick Street Farm owners have been slowly preparing for something of a homecoming. What started with a few converted shipping containers in a lot grew to a fleet of vertical farms in an expanded space in the Warehouse Arts District.
Their brand new fresh market, replete with greens, organic snacks, local honey, and more products is officially open at 199 20th Street South. The Brick Street Farms’ shipping containers are outfitted in the latest technology, allowing the climate, humidity, LED-simulated sunlight, and water filtration and nutrient supply system to be monitored and controlled remotely
By placing the farms directly in communities and not being reliant on any mass transportation or distribution channels, customers have direct access to the freshest and most nutritious greens.
Brick Street’s Thrive plants grow vertically indoors without soil, getting their nutrition from water and light energy from powerful LEDs. The result is a system that operates independently from land, climate, and season with the power to bring local food production directly to eager St. Pete diners.
Those interested in shopping online, or becoming a Brick Street Farm member can register directly on their website. Keep up with Brick Street Farm news by following them on Facebook and Instagram.
Here’s the full announcement from Brick Street Farms regarding the new market:

So much hard work went into this opening, we are beyond grateful to everyone that helped get the market up and running. The summer heat was no joke, but it was worth it. Let’s do this!
