Bringing Food Production To Islands

Did you know FarmBox Foods has delivered (via our sister company, Absolute Logistics) container farms to Jamaica and Tahiti? One is a mushroom farm, the other is a Vertical Hydroponic Farm. We also just dropped one off on Grand Cayman in late July.

Islands are the perfect place to operate the farms we've designed and built because: 

• 85-90 percent of food consumed on islands is imported with only a few exceptions;

• transporting food from elsewhere comes with a massive carbon footprint;

• transporting food also sends the price tag sky high, and quality and shelf life are often diminished due to long transit. 

It doesn't have to be that way! Having a year-round source of nutritious food is a game-changer for many islands, and we always want to make sure that what our customers can grow is culturally relevant to the area.
