Daniele Bertocchi, Greatit:

"We raised the interest of several entrepreneurs. Our Demetra solution for vertical farming in disused and repurposed containers has received great interest at Fruit Logistica," said Daniele Bertocchi with Greatit.

"There has been a great deal of interest from entrepreneurs from areas with adverse climates, like Norwegian, Finnish, and Arabian countries. All of them are territories with extreme climates, where the production of fresh vegetables would be impossible if not with special systems, like ours."

One thing Bertocchi emphasized is the study on the economic return on the investment. "There is no recipe valid for everyone, each company is a case in point. It is necessary to evaluate together with the entrepreneur the cost-effectiveness, by carefully analyzing a project.”

Supporting partners are Sicom and Magli Intermodal service while Idroterm Serre and Monti for the technological suppliers. "This container equipped for vertical farming is called Demetra and it can be managed from a remote location. Only the seeding and harvesting have to be done on-site. Alternatively, thanks to 4.0 technologies that also leverage tax benefits, every step can be adjusted from your smartphone."

“Fruit Logistica went great for us perhaps because we were a newcomer, perhaps because our proposal differs from many others, the fact is that we have not had an instant's rest," concluded Bertocchi.
