GREATIT S.r.l.

🚚 Foundation
Founded in 2020 in Brescia by Daniele Bertocchi , Greatit has innovated by transforming shipping containers into transportable vertical farms, promoting sustainable agriculture.

🔧 Distinctive Innovation
Greatit stands out in the market with the Demetra container, a complete system of hydroponic and aeroponic cultivation inside a refurbished maritime container. This technological solution, developed after more than four years of research, allows the installation of transportable vertical farms anywhere, operating in energy autonomy and without the need for building permits.

📦 Productive Capacity
Greatit’s productive capacities are exemplified by the 40-foot Demetra model, which annually produces 3800 kg of aromatic herbs and 3200 kg of salads. The system ensures 15 cycles per year for herbs with a duration of 24 days per cycle, and 18-22 cycles for salads with a duration of 14-20 days per cycle.

🥗 Product Range and Customers
Demetra allows the cultivation of a wide range of vegetables such as microgreens, mushrooms, medicinal plants, and a variety of aromatic herbs and salads. Additionally, it can produce glycerin, glycolic, hydroalcoholic extracts free of heavy metals, and many others for cosmetic products. Greatit's main customers include 4.0 farmers, research centers, and universities, highlighting its broad applicability and potential for expansion even in the cosmetics sector.

🌍 Market Presence
After an initial phase dedicated to research and development, Greatit began selling the Demetra containers three years ago, rapidly expanding into various Italian regions. This rapid growth attests to the effectiveness and appeal of the proposed solution.

🚧 Future Projects
Future plans include further improvement of Demetra’s technical performance, integration of solutions for daytime energy self-production, and the evolution of the irrigation control software. Greatit is committed to minimizing environmental impact, improving water and energy efficiency, and reducing waste, continuing to set new standards in vertical farming.
