TRIBUNJAKARTA.COM, KEBAYORAN Baru - The DKI Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agriculture Security Service (KPKP) introduced farming in containers or container farming.
Head of the DKI Jakarta KPKP Agency, Suharini Eliawati, said that anyone can do farming in containers.
"Farmers in DKI Jakarta don't have to get dirty," said Suharini in her statement, Friday (10/8/2021).
He explained that some plants that can be cultivated in containers include pakcoy and lettuce.
"This can be done in a container with pakcoy and lettuce plants which have a shorter lifespan and are independent of sunlight. However, with extraordinary technology using UV (ultraviolet) light," he said.
Suharini added, agricultural cultivation in containers is expected to be used by residents of DKI Jakarta.
"Especially for mothers to meet their food needs on a household scale," said Suharini.
He revealed that one container farming unit at the Ragunan Tourism Agro Educational Center, South Jakarta, was the result of the collaboration of the DKI Provincial Government through the KPKP Service and PLN Care.
