Freight Farms Chooses Allen & Gerritsen As Brand Agency of Record
Allen & Gerritsen expands its sustainability portfolio with the addition of the world's leading manufacturer of container farming technology
Allen & Gerritsen (A&G), an independent and fully integrated advertising agency headquartered in Boston announces that it has been chosen as the brand agency of record by Freight Farms, the world's leading manufacturer of container farming technology with a mission of creating a global infrastructure that revolutionises local access to food.
A&G will lead brand strategy, platform development, and creative direction across paid, owned and earned media. A&G and Freight Farms will collaborate to implement integrated communications tactics within their current markets of education, restaurants, hotels, high-end residential communities and small business farms and expand their geographic footprint.
“This is an exciting and pivotal time for the vertical farming industry and Freight Farms is positioned to continue to be a market leader with the strategic minds that A&G has brought to us,” said Rick Vanzura, CEO of Freight Farms. “In the selection process, A&G displayed both the creative boldness along with the ability to measure performance that instilled confidence and energy within our team.”
Freight Farms invented container farming and has the largest network of connected farms in the world. In 2013, Freight Farms released the first hydroponic container farm into the market. Since then, Freight Farms has grown to have a footprint of over 550 farms in use, located in 49 states and integrated farms into 38 companies.
“We are so proud to have been selected as agency of record for Freight Farms as we choose to work with brands that positively impact the quality of our world,” said Jennifer Putnam, chief creative officer at A&G. "We’re committed to continuing our work with the clean energy industry and are particularly excited to expand our portfolio with such a visionary company who is growing opportunities for individuals and communities in every sense of the word.”
A&G joins the Freight Farms team on the heels of the addition of two senior leaders to their Boston-based team: Ed Barrett, who joined as chief marketing officer to lead sales and marketing; and Steve Struebing, joining as vice president of software engineering. These talent acquisitions along with the agency selection marks Freight Farms’ latest step to strategically grow its team using funds from its recent Series B3 funding round.
